
Deaths and injuries in a drone attack targeting El Obeid prison

A drone targeted El Obeid prison, the capital of North Kordofan State, on Saturday, killing and wounding dozens of people, including inmates.
The El Obeid Live Facebook page reported that the Rapid Support Forces targeted El Obeid prison with a drone, killing 19 and wounding 45 inmates.
The Sudan Doctors Network reported on Saturday that 21 people were killed and 47 others were injured. The network said in a statement, "Twenty-one people were killed and 47 others were injured when a Rapid Support Forces drone deliberately targeted El Obeid prison in North Kordofan State, targeting civilian facilities."
The statement added, "The Sudan Doctors Network condemns the continued deliberate targeting by the Rapid Support Forces of civilian facilities and the El Obeid Grand Prison, which houses approximately 5,000 inmates. This resulted in the deaths of 21 people and the injury of 47 others, some of them seriously."
The network called on "UN and international organizations to pressure Rapid Support Forces leaders to halt their escalating violations against unarmed civilians."
