
Syndicate condemns arrest of Sudanese radio journalist

The Sudanese Journalists Syndicate condemned the arbitrary arrest of journalist Dr. Ekhlas Khalifa, by the Rapid Support Forces.
The union demanded that the RSF release the journalist, Ekhlas, immediately detained, and stop attacking journalists as they passed through checkpoints it had installed throughout the country.
Sudanese radio journalist Ekhlas Khalifa was arrested by RSF more than two months ago on her way from White Nile State to Port Sudan, Red Sea State.
The Syndicate expressed concern about the arrest and detention of journalist Ekhlas Khalifa and held the RSF responsible for her safety.
In a statement today, she said that these disturbing and criminal acts are part of a continuing pattern of arrests and detentions of journalists and media workers throughout the Sudan in the past.
The Sudanese Journalists Syndicate drew the worlds attention to the tragedy faced by journalists in the Sudan as a result of the war, the narrowing, the arrests and the assassinations against them.
