Pan Afrikan interrupted gold exploration project in Sudan
Moatinoon
The South African company Pan Afrikan, which was active in exploring gold exploration in the Sudan, announced the cessation of its activities and the declaration of force majeure due to the war. She had tended to agree with an Australian gold exploration company with a capital of up to 54 million.
The company said in a statement yesterday that it had declared force majeure in exploration efforts in Sudans Red Sea state, where the ongoing civil conflict between political factions has disrupted operations.
"The comment affects the exploration rights held by the company in the region, where the conflict continues to create instability and security risks for both employees and assets," said Pan African Chief Executive Officer Cops Lotus.
"In view of the ongoing political turmoil in the Sudan, a decision had been taken to suspend exploration activities in the Sudan", he said, adding that a formal notice of force majeure would protect franchise rights amid the crisis.
