A Cry from Sudanese Doctors for Relief for Al-Jazira displaced

Moatinoon
Today, the Preparatory Committee of the Sudan Doctors Union launched an urgent appeal to address the catastrophic humanitarian conditions of displaced persons from the state of Al Jazira.

The committee described the situation as a renewed disaster and said that 50 thousand displaced persons from the island state were in extremely harsh conditions on the gates of the towns and villages of Hallqa, Faw, Kassala and the River Nile "after conditions forced them to leave their homes in search of safety and safety."

Some 12 thousand people were displaced to Halfa and its villages, while thousands were still stuck on the roads and missing basic needs, the committee said.

It warned of an imminent catastrophe as a result of the Governments inaction and the absence of the required humanitarian intervention, further aggravating the suffering of those displaced who had died.

The Commission appealed to professionals to act immediately and assume their humanitarian and ethical responsibilities to rescue the displaced. Urgently, she called for the provision of tents to accommodate displaced persons, to protect them from extreme climatic conditions while providing clean water tanks for drinking and use, and urgent medical supplies, including IV solutions, antibiotics, cannoles and clinical treatment protocol treatments for rape cases.

It also called for the support of volunteer medical personnel, including doctors and nurses, working in isolation centres, where 84 cholera cases were recorded, three of which ended in death.
