The East Nile Emergency Chamber in the national capital issued an urgent appeal in support of local and community initiatives launched by the people of the region to meet the needs of displaced persons from east villages of Al Jazeera State.

The Chamber stated that some 20 thousand citizens had been displaced from areas and villages east of Al-Jazira to the Abu Dleq area of East Nile locality after the recent massacres.

It revealed the magnitude of the suffering faced by displaced persons in the face of severe shortages of basic food, water and emergency medical services, as well as acute injuries to some of the bullets and fragments, and the need for psychosocial support to help them cope with the trauma of the displacement.

The Chamber said there was an urgent need to provide shelter and all supplies such as tents and beds after schools, hospitals, mosques, all public facilities and expatriate citizens homes were overflowed. The needs were greater than those of the Abu Dleq area.

The East Nile Emergency Chamber appealed to all local and international humanitarian organizations and all humanitarian workers to act immediately and provide urgent support to these displaced persons, expressing its full solidarity with the displaced persons from the villages of Al Jazeera State and the people of Abudleq region.
