Suffering of Arkawit Residents in Khartoum Due to the RSF
Moatinoon
A young man from the Arkawit neighborhood in Khartoum revealed the suffering they are enduring under the presence and control of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in the area. The young man, Fadi, told "Citizens" that after losing his source of income following the outbreak of war, he was forced to work as a juice vendor in the neighborhood.
He said, "We are constantly subjected to looting and theft after a long, hard day of work. In the end, they steal everything we have. I no longer have a source of income, especially since my circumstances do not allow me to leave the area for any other place. Safe passage requires large sums of money."
Fadi pointed out that those living in the Arkawit area struggle to find sources of livelihood due to the high prices of goods. He mentioned that ordering a meal of "foul" (beans) for three people costs more than five thousand Sudanese pounds. He added, "Sometimes we are forced to eat only one meal, and this situation can last for days. The price of one kilogram of sugar has exceeded five thousand pounds."
