Specialists establish Sudan Humanitarian Advocacy Group

Moatinoon
A group of Sudanese with specializations and expertise announced the establishment of the Sudanese Humanitarian Advocacy Group to contribute to the delivery of direct support to those affected in the Sudan.

In its founding statement received today, the Group emphasized the need to cooperate with regional, local and international organizations, as well as with Sudanese civil society, the public and private sectors, to ensure a tangible positive impact.

It sought to ensure the security and safety of humanitarian operations and personnel, to ensure the continued flow of subsidies to its beneficiaries, while improving the administration of such subsidies, and to reduce logistical obstacles and risks that might hinder support operations.

"The group aims to operationalize the positive role of local parties and promote diversity among local partners, by providing services to communities hosting those affected, thereby reducing pressure on resources, reducing tensions, and promoting stability and local cooperation," the statement said.

The Group reiterated its commitment to ensuring a clear strategy to address the needs of war-affected persons in various areas, based on the expertise and knowledge of specialists, and to coordinate domestic and international efforts to achieve tangible improvements in the lives of people affected by these crises.

It called on all local and regional parties and the international community to join us in this important humanitarian initiative, to work together to alleviate the suffering of those affected by war and natural disasters and to contribute to building a better future for the Sudan.
