5 Displaced Killed in Kassab, as RSF Continues Shelling El Fasher

The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) continued shelling the city of El Fasher with artillery this morning, while the Kassab IDP camp is facing catastrophic conditions due to heavy rains and flooding.

The Coordination Committees of Resistance in El Fasher reported that the city is under intense artillery bombardment targeting residential areas, hospitals, and shelters.

In a report published today on their Facebook page, the committees revealed that the Kassab IDP camp in Kutum locality, North Darfur State, is experiencing a severe humanitarian crisis after heavy rains that lasted approximately 15 hours overnight. The report stated that five displaced persons lost their lives and that severe damage to homes within the camp has left many families homeless.

The displaced persons in the camp are facing catastrophic conditions due to the deteriorating food situation and a shortage of supplies. The weather forecast also predicts continued unstable weather with the likelihood of more heavy rain in the state.

The committees issued an urgent appeal to international and local humanitarian organizations to intervene immediately and provide necessary aid to the displaced persons in the camp.
