Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) announced that they have not yet been able to retrieve two trucks that were en route to the Zamzam camp and are being held by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in Kabkabiya, located in North Darfur, Sudan.
In a statement posted on their Facebook page on Thursday, MSF mentioned that despite the RSFs commitment during a meeting in Geneva to facilitate aid, "our teams on the ground have still not been able to retrieve our two trucks heading to Zamzam camp, which are being held by the RSF in Kabkabiya."
The statement added, "As a result, our teams continue to struggle to provide life-saving medical care and nutritional support to our patients in Zamzam due to the lack of therapeutic food and other essential supplies." MSF reported that they had to limit the number of children who could receive this treatment at the beginning of this month.
The organization warned that they might have to take further measures, including suspending services if their supplies are not received immediately.
MSF operates on both sides of the conflict in Sudan and currently runs and supports more than 20 hospitals and healthcare clinics in eight of Sudan’s 18 states. MSF employs 926 Sudanese staff members and 118 international staff and provides incentives for 1,092 staff members in the Ministry of Health.
