
IDEA Organizes Events for Sudanese Womens Participation in Peacebuilding

International IDEA (Sudan Office) organized in Kampala (Uganda) from August 11 to 13, dialogue sessions with Sudanese women experts and activists on: Bridging the gaps for: Invlusive participation of Sudanese women in peacebuilding and the political process.
The discussions in these sessions are led by specialists in political participation issues, contexual analysis, and experts in peacebuilding and sustaining peace in Sudan.
The dialogue is divided into three days, the first day discusses the context analysis and building common understanding, the second day was on exploring mechanisms for women inclusion, while the final day discussed the action plan towards establishing the inclusive participation of Sudanese women in peacebuilding and the political process.
Thirty participants from different regions of Sudan were invited, representing a wide range of schools of thought. The participants in this dialogue were selected based on the specializations required in this dialogue in order to ensure that the objectives set for this dialogue are achieved. International IDEA is organizing this high level dialogue as part of a series of activities that have been planned to expand women’s political participation in Sudan.
This dialogue was organized with generous funding from the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA) and the European Union (EU) Delegation to Sudan.
