By: Rami Mohker
The Environmental Sanitation Protection Initiative in Kassala State has warned about the risk of corpses surfacing at Al-Hassan and Al-Hussein cemeteries after they were flooded by recent heavy rains.
In a statement, the initiative said: "The Al-Hassan and Al-Hussein cemeteries in Kassala locality are facing a catastrophic situation due to the heavy rains that have filled them with water and the lack of drainage. This poses a significant environmental hazard to the residents, necessitating swift action and the cooperation of the youth."
The initiative highlighted that the unsanitary conditions in the cemeteries could lead to an increase in infections, emphasizing the need for immediate response from the local youth.
It called on the youth in Kassala locality to actively engage in organizing cleaning campaigns and improving the environmental conditions of the cemeteries, in collaboration with health authorities to address these challenges.
