The European Union announced on Monday the extension of sanctions previously imposed on both sides of the conflict in Sudan for one year, until October 2026.

In a statement issued by the European Council, it said: “The Council today agreed to extend the restrictive measures imposed by the European Union on those responsible for destabilizing Sudan and obstructing its political transition for another year.”

According to the statement, the sanctions regime will remain in force until 10 October 2026, covering ten individuals and eight entities.

The measures include “an EU-wide travel ban, asset freezes, and a prohibition on making funds or economic resources available to them, either directly or indirectly.”

The EU had previously imposed successive rounds of sanctions against individuals and entities linked to the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in January, June, and December 2024, and again in July 2025, under what it called “restrictive measures in light of activities undermining stability and the political transition in Sudan.”

Entities targeted by the sanctions include:

Sudan Master Technology (SMT)

Zadna International Investment Company Ltd., controlled by the Sudanese Armed Forces

Three RSF-affiliated companies: Al-Junaid Multi-Activities Company Ltd., Tradive General Trading, and GSK Advance Company Ltd.
