10 Civilians Killed in RSF Drone Attack on Singa

Moatinoon – Agencies
Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces (RSF) carried out a drone strike on Monday targeting a military base in the city of Singa, southeast of the country, according to a military source quoted by Agence France-Presse (AFP). For its part, the Sudan Doctors Network said the attack resulted in the deaths of 10 civilians and injuries to nine others.

The source, who spoke to AFP on condition of anonymity as he was not authorized to speak to the media, said RSF drones “targeted the headquarters of the 17th Infantry Division in Singa, the capital of Sennar State.”

A resident of Singa told AFP that he “heard the sound of explosions and anti-aircraft fire.”

The Sudan Doctors Network condemned what it described as the systematic targeting of civilians outside military objectives, saying such attacks amount to fully fledged war crimes.

The network held the Rapid Support Forces fully responsible, calling for an end to the targeting of civilians and for the protection of civilian facilities. It also appealed to the international community, the United Nations, and human rights organizations to take urgent action to pressure for an end to these violations, ensure accountability for those responsible, and provide the necessary protection for civilians in Sudan.

Sennar State had witnessed relative calm since the army regained control of major Sudanese cities in late 2024, an offensive that later led to the recapture of the capital, Khartoum.

The last drone strike targeting the Sennar area was reported in October.
